I've been looking at Seat Belts to put in my '71 Camino and came across this site selling the Three Point Seat Belts...

http://www.morrisclassicconcepts.com/Billy%20Page%20Three.htm

What I would like to know is if any one has tried these in a '70-'72 Elcamino with a Bench Seat...?

I am using and Electric Split Bench Seat with the folding arm rest, from a '71 Buick Skylark in my Camino recovered to match my complete Monte Carlo interior set up...

I really don't want to go back to the original seat belt set up that came in my Camino from the Factory even throw they are almost like new... The Three Point set up in the newer cars are so much nicer to use...

Before I order there set up that they say will fit my Camino I would like to get a little input from someone that has used there set up, hopefully in a Camino...

Thank Much on any input...:)

I dont know anybody who has installed a set in a camino but, I installed the three point seat belts from Morris Concepts in my 69 chevelle with bucket seats and console two weeks ago. They bolted right into the factory mount points. They look original and I feel much safer driving. I'd recommend you give them a call and tell them what you have. They were very helpful.

I had a set in my 1970 with the original bench seat. They worked fine, and are well put together. Bolt in, no mods. necessary. I may have measured incorrectly as the center straps were a little long, but I just moved the mounting to the other side of the trans. tunnel.
I've since switched over to some new gen GTO buckets and the seat belts don't fit anymore. Looking to sell if you are interested - they are blue.

I installed a set from Wesco Performance in my '68. Likely the same basic deal.

Three point belts are a natural in the El Caminos, much more so than the Chevelles. You can mount the retractor back on the lower side panel and it mostly dissappears. And you can mount the upper shoulder belt on the pillar using the stock location.

One thing I liked about the Wesco product was the nut plates they have. These plates are just the right size to fit through the wiring pass through hole in the El Camino lower side panel. They have holes so you can pop rivet them in place behind the panel. I actually bought 3 sets of these nut plates and used them on all of the outside mounting points. The OEM top mount used two bolts while modern stuff uses one big bolt. I modified a nut plate and mounted it behind the panel using the original welded nuts to hold it in. Lots of fun reaching around behind the panel from the back and working the bolts in from the back.

I also used nut plates for the lower mount rather than use the OEM mounting point. The problem I noted was the lap belt is close to vertical when the seat is all the way back and the OEM mount point is used. This is not good for the belt restraint in a frontal impact. Much better to get some angle in the lap belt by moving the mounting point back about 6"
