Yawn.... Ok work or surf team chevelle...
So... I got the bug this week. Started working on the '65 again. This weekend I spent a little time cleaning up the engine bay and making the wires a little cleaner.

Couple quick questions.

My pos cable from the battery to the starter goes by the headers and is pretty dried up and burnt.

I have done a pretty good jub of hiding or routing all my wires away from the engine and wrapping them with nonadhesibve vinyl.

What i would like to do is rout the positive cable from the battery, through the wheel well/fender along with the other wire, effectively keeping it away from the headers and engine as much as possible.

My questions would be:

1) what would be the best path to route it on? it would eventually have to come near the headers to get to the starter. my car also sits pretty low, so I would alsoo like to avoid it hanging to low as not to snag it on anything I drive over.

2) What length should I get to accomplish this? of course, not wanting to have the cable too long or not long enough.

3) Is there a certain thickness I should be looking for?

4) Is this something I should pick up at Autozone, or should I try to find a higher quality version somewhere online?

5) Any pointers, concerns, words of wisdom or warnings I should be aware of?

All the electrical has been replaced on the car a few years back when i put in the M&H wiring. Any other wiring that is not stock would have been custom made by me. only the body ribbon is original.

Thanks

I would run it down under the motor mount myself.
Any auto parts store should be able to provide a cable with the proper length and wire gauge.

Originally there was a "J" clamp on one of the front oil pan bolts and one on the top of the frame I believe.
