Well guys, I finally got my Chevelle out saturday! It runs great, a few probs, but considering it hadnt been run in 20 years I cant complain! My new cheapo plug wires burnt through, an exhaust hanger broke (and the pipe with it) after a little drive time and it also started to have a little blow by on the drivers side, but other than that, stuff went awesome! Kinda weird, the first day I had it running I had 40-50 psi of oil pressure, now it has 25 at idle and 40ish when running, is this outta line? I fear I either have a stuck ring or maybe, just maybe its a valve seal that went out from sitting forever. Opinions guys?

Have you got oil smoke coming from the driver's side tail pipe?

Rings and valve seals won't affect the oil pressure...

EDIT: Nice car

Good Deal:yes:

Here's a tip.... Mystery oil... Don't run it -without it!.. put an oz or two of mystery oil in each cylinder. Let it sit again for at least 24hrs. The next day , don't start it, use a wrench (on the front balancer ) and turn the motor over slowly 1 inch at a time Let it sit 10-15 minutes after each 1 to two inch turn. This lubricates the rings and cylinder walls. Start the car with old plugs and let it run outside for about 15 or 20 minutes or until the motor gets up to temperature 190 to 200 degrees. Shut it down, change oil and plugs and now you have a well lubed motor...it works every time for me. Good luck

Mike speaks wisdom. I once had a buddy who had a vega wagon he got with an engine that locked up due to sitting. He douced Marvel Mystery Oil on top of each cyl and let it set. He did this every day for 3 or 4 days. On the last day, we broke it loose with a wrench, changed plugs, oil, etc and he put another 50,000 miles on it before selling it.
Marvel is God's gift to car guys!!!
