I'm asking for a buddy that has a rusted out front winshield area. Even the front portion of the roof is behond repair. So he is searching for a donor car with a solid enough A-piller and roof to swap over.

I don't think the windshield is the same because of the FM antenna, right? But that's just down on the cowl portion though.

I'm guessing, but I'd say the 68 and 69 are the same roof and the 70 to 72 would be another stamping because of the rear sail panel area. The a-pillars probably are the same in all years because the windshield interchanges physically. The 68's had the vent windows but don't think that would change the pillar stamping.

My roof was bad on my '68. In fact, so were the A pillars. The A pillars were repairable and so we fixed the original ones. However, the roof had quite a few holes in it so I bought a repop roof from Ground Up. They were advertised as 70-72 but it is the same panel that is advertised elsewhere as 68-72 by other companies. I didn't do the actual work on this part, but my body shop told me they had to do a small amount of fabrication to get the roof to match up. I don't remember if he told me that the work was in the front or back.

To the OP, is the roof that needs replacement already off the car? The reason I ask is that we didn't notice that my roof brace in the front was rusty too, until after the roof was off the car. More $$$.
