I have a '69 el camino with rust in the back end (lots) needs both quarters and some floor pan work. I found a stripped '70 body and frame with no front clip or interior. It would seem to me it might be easer to bolt the '69 stuff on the '70. Has anybody tried to put a '69 dash into a '70 body?

You might try posting this question in the El Camino section, too.

You can't put the 69 dash in a 70 body unless you are really good with metal fabrication and welding. The 69 dash housing is welded to the body shell.

I think a '69 front end on an otherwise '70 body would be fine, although I also like the tail-lights and thin tailgate trim on the '69 better too.
I like the look and function of the '70 dash if it is the full round instrument style, which is fairly easy to swap in to a sweep dash - a lot easier than putting a '69 dash in, IMHO.
