I know someone selling a front disc brake conversion kit but I'm not sure if it would work for my 64. Are all disc brake conversion kits the same from 64-72? In other words would a 68 brake conversion kit (The guy selling the kit purchased the kit for his 68 but sold the car) work on a 64? All brake conversion kits I have seen are 64-72 A body kits, none have been for any specific years. The kit is unopened and comes with all brand new parts which include:
- 2 spindles
- 2 calipers
- 2 brake lines
- 2 brake pad sets
- 2 brake rotors
- 2 bearing sets
Does $395 seem like a good deal? He says all I need is the master cyl and Booster.
Thanks for help in advance
Steve

Postie thanks for the reply. I am going to call the guy today. Do you work for Canada Post or is 64Postie just a reference to your car (which is really nice by the way). Not too many Post cars left.

NO, the Blazer brakes will not work. The spindles are way wrong, not even close. Junk the Blazer and apply the cash towards the swap. Welcome to the sight its awesome, and there are alot of excellant info. on here, and noligable people who know there ****.

You will also need a proportioning valve.

We do this kit which includes booster and master for $550 complete. Your friends kit is a fair deal at $400

Some of them were just distribution blocks nothing more..not sure about a 64. The main thing is you must make sure there are no residual valves in it...they are usually in the master but I've been told that some are in the prop valve/dist block. You probably know this already but the residual valves are used on drum brakes to keep the return springs from forcing the fluid back to the MC.....which would cause you to have to pump the brakes to get pedal. If you run disc brakes with the residual valves still in the system the calipers won't want to release when you let off the brake pedal.
