A guy has '71 Skylark complete disk brake setup and will sell to me for my '70 Chevelle. Will this be a fit or should I pass ? How much would this "complete" setup be worth if it's a fit?

thanx

John

John It will bolt right up. Make sure to get the master, the booster, the prop valve, spindles on out. These setups are getting pricey. anything under 400 is reasonable right now.

search our classifieds on this site for any years between 68 to 72, all A body cars will bolt up. thought I saw a set up for about 200 last week. Note: all you really need used are the spindles, caliper brakets, dust shields aka backing plates, brake hose brakets, and the "combination" valve (does proportioning, metering, etc all in one) Most people buy the rotors new, calipers rebuilt or new anyway.

You can get rebuilt master cylinder, booster, calipers etc, but check the core charges. It might be a good idea to pay a couple of bucks for a pair of frozen calipers, just to have something to turn in for cores.
