I'm trying to hook up a tach (Sun Pro II) on my '72 Chevelle w/ HEI. I followed the instructions - black to ground (on steering column), red to ignition in fuse block, white to lamps, and green to the Tach side of the plug on the distributor. When all hooked up the car will turn, but won't start. If I unplug the green wire from the distributor it starts just fine.

What have I got screwed up? :confused:

FYI... got it figured it out... two problems that I had... one was I had hooked onto the wrong wire for the lamps and guess I was grounding it out. The second issue is that I have a faulty coil on the distributor. The plastic housing is cracked where the terminals for Batt and Tach are housed. Gotta replace that today after church.
