I have a 67 Malibu with SB 350, iron heads, no AC, 15 inch wheels. Just a street car. I am thinking of TRW CS638. Something like 1750 lbs, 327 load, 16.3 free height. The numbers look good but I can't seem to find anyone who has tried these. Anyone? How do they sit? Would a spring with this free height be hard to install? Thanks in advance for your help.

I have used the Moog 5536 with 1/4 - 1/2 coil cut.

I am also using a Camaro spring on my 2dr ht 66 Malibu 327. It is the 6310 which is the same spring rate as the 638 but is cut about 1/4" shorter at 16.1" free height. My car sits 3/4 -1" below level at the rocker (front and rear rocker to ground measurement differences) depending which rear spring I use, standard or HD so I would think your spring would be about 1/2-3/4" down in front if the car and engine weights are similar.
A 16" spring was far easier to install than the stock height 18" Chevelle spring. I was able to compress enough of the spring by hand to get it started onto the lower arm without a compressor. (yes I used a safety chain) Hope this helps.
Maybe someone with a 67 that also used a Camaro spring can add something more for you.

I just put a set of Moog 5536 in my 67 small block, iron heads, no air. I cut one coil off.
The springs just sat right in there when I installed them. They are so much shorter than the stock 18 inch I couldn't believe it! :eek:
I thought I had done something wrong until I installed the shocks. I have to finish up to get my completed height, but I used them on a recommendation from a fellow chevelles.com guy who installed them in an Elky and sent me pics. BTW the 5536s are listed as 1970 Monte Carlo big block springs. :cool:
