Okay, now that thats through, how much damage can not having a vacuum line on the trans do? I ask because I noticed that Mr. Francis Delores of Brian's Automotive in Burien is such an immense douchebag that when he installed my TH350, he both crimped the bejesus out of the line and then reused some old rubber hose to couple it, which then cracked.

My fault obviously for not noticing it sooner.

I tried to take the crimp out of the line as best I could and hooked it up with fresh hose, I need a smaller diameter on the bottom though.

Could this have hurt the Trans or just caused the "meh" shifts I've noticed. (When i first picked it up it shifted pretty firm, then went downhill.)

I doubt you hurt the trans.....
get a new line on there and new rubber ends....find out.
Hook it to where you have full manifold vacuum.

Just run a vacuum hose from the modulator to the intake or too the carb at the baseplate.

I had the same thing happen while on a mini road trip. Car shifted weird but other than that I was able to limp it home on back roads. I ended up ordering a new hard line (because the old was hacked/bent up) and then just using some vacuum line to connect the hard line to the modulator. That was last summer and it's been fine since

Well It was better last night on the drive up to everett with the newly reattached line.

Without the vacumm line it will always shift like you are at full throttle. Tranny should be fine!
