Anyone know the measurements for the rear SS badge placement for a 69 chevelle, below the trunk. Thanks

Why no one has come up with templates for all of the emblems really surprises me.

The badge I am refering to is the SS badge, located beneath the trunk lock and between the chrome moldings. I had to replace the panel and I just realized it does not have pre-drilled holes. John, maybe that hamburger you crave negatively affects your patience :o I appreciate all those that are trying to help!

Here are some pictures. Measurements are 24 1/4 for the smaller hole and 27 5/8 for the larger hole both measured from left side as shown. I could probably make some kind of a template and send it to you.

There isn't one that's not in the center.

I'm just wondering why you wouldn't save the old panel? When people ask these questions cloning comes to mind.

Thanks for the info., I am planning on "cloning" my '69 Malibu one day, soon I hope. ( I do not have a problem with "cloning , but that is just me), build it the way you want it, just do not pass it off as an original SS for profit, that I would have a problem with....

Acually "cloning" is not a very good word to describe what I will be doing to my '69 Malibu. I will put it in the "Malibu witness program" and change its name and appearance to look like an SS to fool those who are not very knowledgable of Chevelles....LOL

Or..maybe the right word would be "upgrading"....to an SS.

Or..maybe "remodel", as you would a house that you want to look a certain way to match your likes and personality.

Or..maybe "disquise", to make it look like something that it is not.( for those who are looking for an "original Malibu").

Or..maybe the word is "make-over", as a person gets a make-over to look different than they have looked for years....

Oh, I don't know, I am just going to put some SS badges on the outside and inside of the car and some bucket seats and a console and BBC and see what happens.......LOL

Malibu's have feelings too. When you're drilling those holes to put those phony badges on, can't you see the tears rolling down the headlights? Is it not good enough to have a small block, need everyone be well endowed?
When I win the lottery I'm gonna buy as many SS396's as possible and make them 6 bangers and SBC's so my malibu's have someone to pick on!!:D:D

I'm with you man I love my Malibu. At least we know our VINs in 69 match what the car was built as and don't have to put up with the no real way to prove its an SS issue.
