Good morning everyone..............

I have been working on a 70 SS Chevelle for a number of years now and am getting to the point where I need to start putting the brakes together. I'm looking for some advice as I don't know what the best way to go about it would be.

The car was originally a power disc/rear drum car that I am converting to a manual disc/disc setup with a bolt in Moser 9" rear. The only thing I have at this point is the brakes and rear. What would be the best way to go about this? Some ? I have are:

Can I use the stock lines or do I have to have all of them custom bent or make them myself?

If I do make them myself, how hard is it to bend and flare stainless tubing? Is it something a novice can do? It seems that some of the tight corners and small tubing would be very hard to do.

Where can I get the bulk stainles tubing and is there anyplace that sells it with the gravel guard?

What do I do for a proportioning valve? As you know the 70's and some others have that wierd steup that hangs off the side of the master cylinder. I don't even know how that works or what it does. I'd like to keep the stock brake light switch/junction block also on the frame rail also.

How would I go about routing the lines? Like what goes to where?

Also need some advice on a master cylinder too.

This will be mainly a street car and I am trying to do this as reasonable as possible. All help or input would be greatly appreciated!!

for 4 wheel discs, just get a distribution valve from a 4 wheel drum car- it doesn't do any proportioning, it just activates the light if something goes wrong. use an adjustable prop valve in the rear line and tweak it until it works right.

You can also "gut" the stock disc/drum proportioning valve (basically just remove the spring inside the combination valve) and it'll do the same thing.
