i have the above components on my 67 camaro( i have a 72 chevelle also ) that smoked the tack!!(just put the car togethere)
funny thing is it worked fine untill the car ran a long time while i was setting timing ect and then died, smoke filled the gauge pod, pulled the tack and it had smoked the large resister on the board!!
so with anyone running this simular setup how is your tack connected?
i had searched and already called msd teck line and dont feel comfortable pluging in another tack(they replaced it ) without input from other members here.:noway:
appreciate the help:yes:

What kind of tach? On the MSD web site they have a 192 page tech manual that you can download that explains just about every ignition combination you could dream up. Itcovers tachs in pretty good detail. It's a 12 MB file.

it is connected to the white wire coming from the msd box, the msd pn 8910 adapters white wire is connected there also and the black wire from the protronix igniter also, per msd diagrams on the top of page 122 and 39, wired just like the directions, funny thing thought is the white wire going to the tack will give a good shock? msd teck said that was normal? is the pn 8910 a voltage booster?thx scott

Why don't you just wire it to the tach terminal on the 6al? GM tachs are 12 volt square wave, which is what that terminal puts out. That is where I have my factory tach wired to.

msd teck said to attach the tack in 3 possible ways
1 attach to the tack terminal on the box
2 attach to the white wire coming from the box
3 add the tach adapter then attach to the white wire from the box
i had option 3 allready and i am gun shy about the frying the tack again after all it worked for awhile then blew!!
i will try the term on the box as soon as the new tach arrives.
thx scott
