Before I dive into this...After about 5 minutes my headlights will flash on and off erratically every couple of seconds whether the car is running or not.
Kind of looks like a Police Car...:( Only the Headlights flash with no apparent pattern. Car does have an Alarm, Prestige brand that came with it.
Headlight switch gets pretty hot...
Haven't checked anything yet, like relay etc.
Thanks for any input..

Don't most headlight switches have a built in circuit breaker?
I'm wondering if the switch is bad or there's a short in the light circuit...
Or, hi-output headlights drawing too much?

That car should have composite headlights in it. I bet the switch is bad or just worn out. The switch being hot usually means there is more current flowing through it that normal. I know the headlight switch on my 86 Cutlass never got hot.

Yeah, that was my first thought, They have the switch at NAPA and will replace that after the relay since the relay is way easier to get too and not expensive.
The added resistance from a poor connection in the switch may be just enough to ruin the feed to the relay. Maybe I could toast a bagel in the dash..:D
I think in order of easiest and cheapest....the alarm first, relay second, dash switch third.
Thanks

Sounds like the circuit breaker is cycling which is more than likely due to a short somewhere.

Yes, I hear the clicking, but wasn't sure if it is circuit breaker or relay.
Hopefully the short is in the alarm or switch.
