Hi I have a 72 chevelle malibu I need help on the wiering to turn the car on when i bought it it didint start with the switch I have to turn it on under the dash it has alot of wiers and a metal plate thats connected to it and i would like to know some 1 out there will help me how to connect that to the turn switch I have to steel my own car every time I want to start it thanks.:sad:

Does it have the original style distributor?

The ignition switch bolts onto the steering column with two small machine screws and is operated by a rod from the lock mechanism.

yes I belive it does well the wires are connected to a metal plate thing and I stick a small screw driver to turn the car on it has like a little switch in the middle Im sure some thing gos in there so when i turn the ignition switch it should do what I do with the screw driver.

That is the ignition switch
Do you see a small diameter rod hanging down on the left side of the column?
There is a 90* bend on the rod and the end of the rod goes into a slot in the plastic part of the ignition switch.

I'll see if I can find a picture.

Im not sure havent check that out but I will and if its not there what can I do to fix it.
