posted this on the camaro board, but being an old chevelle guy, i thought i'd ask here too.
looks like my Borg Warner 90144 BRUTE POWER CLUTCH is getting low on life. i was thinking of a centerforce. techs there recommended the Dual Friction (DF148552) for my mostly street use over the DFX. the car has a 1304000069 Richmond 4-Speed T10 Transmission - 1st-4th: 2.64, 1.75, 1.34, 1.0 with a 1-1/8" 26-spline input. the car's a matching # 69 396 ss camaro with a machine shop claim of about 400 hp? doesn't seem that much to me, but my 3.08 gears may be contributing to that. anybody have any luck or problems with these. i really would like to get a easy pedal movement, last time i took it to crusin' the coast, i got left leg craps for days with all the stop and go driving.
one other ?, should i just get my flywheel resurfaced of go with a new one?

I'm using a Center Force clutch in my 67 chevelle with a very nasty small block, 4 speed and a 3.55 gear. I would suggest you use a complete setup, not just the pressure head and disk but the flywheel as well. Unless you know the history of your current flywheel and how thick it is the center force is a better choice.

Easy peddle pressure like all modern diaphragm units.

I have a CenterForce DF in my 70. 454, M20, 3.73 12 bolt. New flywheel when installed. Lighter clutch pressure, grabs good and I've pounded on it.

I am running a 11" Hays Street/Strip set up and it runs exactly like a Brute Force. I was running one of those in my BB 427 Nova that I sold a couple of years ago. The Hays clutch pedal is a little heavier than stock, hooks up under any punishment and I never get clutch chatter which a lot of people say they get with Center Force dual-frictiion.
