Just bought a comp plus for my 66 with the muncie top half and after installing I noticed that the reverse lock out feature does not work or should I say does not work quite like the old muncie lock out did. I searched around on here for awhile and could not find a explanation why,or did I miss something during installation? seemed pretty strait forward though

You have a Hurst shifter with an adapter that attaches a Muncie handle?
If so, no, the reverse lock out finger hook portion of the handle won't really do anything. The reverse lock out feature of the Muncie shifter was partially on the shifter mechanism and partially on the shifter handle.
The Hurst has it's own version of a reverse lock out feature, a really strong spring that resists pulling the handle to the driver's side where the reverse gear shift gate is. As it is, the reverse lock out feature built into the Muncie handle isn't really connected to anything on the Hurst shifter at all. The whole point of the Muncie-handle-on-a-Hurst is just for looks, not functionality.

You would have to force the Hurst into revese by pulling the shift handle to you and driving it forward. The only other gear you do that for is 1st gear and you certainly wouldn't be power shifting 1st gear. Since you usually start out in 1st, and pull straight back or apply pressure AWAY from you to shift to 3rd, it's a good system and works fine. Never heard of anyone accidentally grabbing reverse on a hot run.
