so I just got my chevelle on monday, so i've been cleaning it out and taking inventory of the rust i can see, and guessing at what i can't. so everything i've seen so far hasn't scared me too bad, because they make re-pop of everything, except for these a-pillars. I'll know more when i get the body soda blasted, but what is your guys ideas of how to correctly fix this issue, assuming the entire pillar isn't swiss cheese once I get the paint stripped?

I'd do exactally what you are already doing. Strip off all of the trim then blast, grind, wire wheel the rust to see how deep you are going to have to go. They don't have repro panels for the A-pillars, but there are plenty of places to get A-pillars for them. http://www.azchevs.com/

The guy who runs this seems to be a great guy, good prices, and for me is right down the road... :) And his stuff is pretty darn nice (Especially for you midwest guys)

the part in the picture is actually a drip rail moulding bracket that screws on with 3 screws onto the a piller and are now repoped! so if needed you can get them for arround 50.00. !
