is it possible to bolt up f- body spindles in a 67 chevelle along with the disk brakes?? i dont want to make too many modifications so im looking for a bolt in. i have access to a great junk yard locally but most cars are from the 80's.. would any other spindles work?

If you are going to do the tall spindle swap it might as well utilize the B-body 12" disc 1LE swap instead of the tall spindle F-body 11" disc.

Look for B-body Caddies (& clones) and especially look for B-body station wagons from the mid '80's. These have the 12" spindles more than likely. Measure the disc before you pull and measure the outside diameter of the spindle itself (should be .850") to insure you can run the 1LE outer bearing.

You probably have tons of questions on this swap so the search function is your friend as it has been discussed many times. There is good info out there on the parts needed, pros vs. cons of the swap & people who have shared their experiences with the swap.

Good luck!

there is a "disc brake conversion" forum on this site in the Archives. Go find it and read all the relevant posts. Almost everything you will encounter will be there. One thing to beware of on the tall spindle swap. You will not be able to run 14 inch wheels any longer. If you do a disc swap with the stock 68-72 A body 11 disc and spindle, 14 inch rally wheels will still fit. I just finished a conversion on my 69 and was relieved to confirm that I can stil fit my 14 inch rallies.
