Just got my front control arms for my 68 SS back from the machine shop yesterday. They sand blasted, painted and pressed my new PST bushing in. Well almost all of them. My passenger side control has bigger holes for the bushings than the driver side. Is this normal, am I suppost to get different size bushings for my passenger side from PST or has a different corntrol arm for an A body been put on my car in it's long 30+ year life? If this is the case my holes on my passenger size measure about 1 7/8" (big hole) and about 1 5/8" for the smaller hole. If somebody could tell me what year and make this sounds like, I can call PST and get a bushing for it. It looks as if the bushing that came in the kit the 1 5/8" (the one that is on the driver side large hole) will fit my passenger small hole. I also hope PST will sell a partial set of bushing, don't feel like buying a whole kit. Anybody with any answers or advise, it will be appreciated. Thanks

I know that in 67' they had two different style bushings, one round and I believe one was egg shaped. Who knows what happened in 68.
Sounds like one was swapped out earlier in the cars life. Can you buy a bushing by dimensions?

You're on the right track.

I just did my lower control arms and was told they were offered with two styles, round and oval. I was also told only the round bushings were available aftermarket, to use the stock lower control arms with the oval bushings, I would have to send them into Global West to have them modified. My suggestion would be to replace the lower control arm with a control arm with round bushings, so they will match and you won't have any 'compatibility' issues. I'm honestly not sure what other years will fit, but someone here surely will.

I used Del-a-lum (spelling?) bushings, not PST bushings, but belive the 'oval' story to be the same with the PST bushings too.

Good luck with your project.

The 64-66 first design size was 1 5/8 for front and 1 13/16 for rear bushing. The Second design round bushings is 1 1/2 for front and 1 5/8 for rear. The rear oval started in about 70. The arms are interchangable so the car can have any combination.

Hey shooter, I think you are right. The holes are as round as could be. I was also able to press in the 1 5/8 bushing that came with the kit for the small hole. I am going to call PST and see if I can get that 1 13/16 bushing. Crazy to get a 64-66 A arm on a 68. Thanks everybody
