Has anyone successfully installed a rear disc brake set up from a '98 and up F-body? A friend wants to use a GM set up on his '71 with a 12 bolt rear. I'd appreciate any info about this conversion.

If you were wondering, this system is different from the earlier versions because the parking brake consisted of shoes inside the hub of the rotor.

Thanks for your help! smile.gif

Hey Joe, do you know if the C5 abutments will mount to the LS1 F body backing plates? I already have all the the parts for the C5 ready to go, it would be very helpfull if they bolted on to body brackets.

Dennis,
Nope, they won't :(

I went down the same road and already tried it.

Now, I did convince the parts counter guy to take my C5 calipers & abutments in as cores for the LS1 rear calipers.
