Some cars I've seen have these additional braces & some don't. Any advantage in having them for a sunny day only occasional driver BB454, T400, 3.31 posi.I think the pn/s for the braces are 3918061 & 2.

Yes, they generally strength the entire rear suspension mounting points and take a large amount of flex out of the rear suspension/frame environment. They can contribute to eliminating wheel hop.
Especially with a big torque engine (like a 454) they can be helpful. Manual transmission cars can benefit by them greatly and they sure can't hurt even with an automatic. Unless all you do is gently drive to and from the grocery store they may not be necessary, but if you ever get in the gas you can benefit from them.
The only real downside to them is that they can cause interference problems if you have really large mufflers but hi-po mufflers which most of us use are either as large or smaller than stock style mufflers so this is rarely an issue.
