These were in my 71 Convertible when I bought it but, of course, aren't original. Driver seat is 4-way power bucket & passenger is recliner. Non-metal backs. http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r139/mrblackwell67/100_0952.jpg

You would think the driver side would be a recliner, along with the tilt wheel
column, you know, for more HEAD room . :D

Heck, I am old. It's better than the alternative though.

So, Does everyone concur that these are 68's ?

the backs look like they have been covered, are they metal or plastic?

They could be 68, but not chevelle.

definitely usable.

those would have come in handy about 24 years ago.

if the sides & backs are metal I would say 1967, if the sides and backs are plastic 1968-1972
I have been told that even the 1969 and newer seats with passenger recline got the side release buttons like 67, 68 due to there not being enough room for the rear release button with the mechanism for the passenger recline.
Is there a difference in headrests 1967, 1968 vs 1969 -1972?

these cluse should help narrow it down.

headrests were optional on 68 and older cars. I sold a set of seats kind of like those for good money, they turned out to be from a 66 GTO.

They didn't have the power driver's side either. I'd say you got 67 or 68 seats with optional headrests.

Didnt know that it was possible to have a reclining one. My wife has mentioned that she would like that for when we take it on long trips. I'll have to see if I can round up one.

I'm pretty sure they're plastic. (My steel magnet wouldn't stick to them & I couldn't find my plastic magnet. Must've disappeared when my aluminum magnet did) l:)

Those look like 68 Pontiac or Olds seats. 69-up have the release button on the back.

Power seat with plastic backs and rare recliner option. I would say 1969 or 70 no earlier.
