I need to replace the wiring harness in my 71 SS and was curious if anyone knew how a aftermarket harness (painless or NPD/OPG)would work with the stock SS tach dash. If its a straight plug and play type of deal or i need to do any cut and splicing?:confused::confused::beers:

No Cutting Or Splicing needed...I installed a Painless Harness and it comes with everything you need..as far as the Tach and gauges go you will have to route the individual wires into the plastic plug which is provided, you will need to see the position of the original (GM) Harness wires as far as front to back and upper or lower going into the plug, If your car is an original SS its a piece of cake if not you will need a wiring diagram for a 71 SS.
