I'm installing a disc braks kit from stainless steel braks corp. that was purchased 4 or 5 years ago for a 66 chevelle. It is also going on a 66 chevelle but the rotors need replaceing and the calipars need rebuilding but I was told that when ordering parts its not for a 66 chevelle. Can anyone tell me for what year chevelle or whatever I need to order for? I've tried to get info from SS braks corp. but they are un-responsive and one of the sales reps cant give me the answer bvecause I dont have a kit #, besides he acted like I was a major pain in his butt to call????? Ant info would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks

I used various parts from different year cars for my comversion. From 68 to 72, the brake parts interchange. You would probably be safe getting parts for a 70 - thats what I did.

Hi Mike i am also going to change over to Disc on my 66 Chevelle. Where did you get your parts from ? I would rather go GM than a kit from a catalog. Thanks Clint

66lover chances are your kit is designed around a 69 to 72 A body. Disc brakes were not an option on earlier Chevelle's. 1967 was the first year it was offered as an option and both 67 and 68 used a 4 piston caliper which proved to be very unreliable and a high maintenance item. The were redesigned for 69 into a single piston caliper which has proven to be very reliable.
