1966malibu Aug 17th, 09, 3:32 AM OK who wants to go :beers:. I am trying to decide if I want to race or just watch. Ether way its a fun time on Saturday . I will be there for sure and will probable race if some of the TCNW gang shows up .
cobaltchev67 Aug 17th, 09, 3:45 AM Barring unforseen family circumstances, a weather change, or job developments I want to be there. Are we talking Fri/Sat or just Sat?
kettbo Aug 17th, 09, 3:46 AM Hmmmm, tempting.
I did hear the dreaded word "camping" being batted-around for next weekend.
Family trip to Victoria was cancelled for a wedding we nearly forgot about. So due for a 'Family 500' event......
1966malibu Aug 17th, 09, 3:48 AM I will only be there on Saturday :(. I have to work Friday. If a lot of people show up for a Fri/Sat thing I could get there before the gates close on Friday :beers:.
cobaltchev67 Aug 17th, 09, 4:04 AM Camping, eh, maybe....would prefer paying the extra extrance fee Sat. to sleep at home, also depends on if I have Tracy with me.
Will see what the rest of the local racing community says about Friday....if just Saturday I'll drive out and not race, if Fri/Sat I'll trailer Fri and drive Sat. Throw all that out the window if I'm camping, it'll be trailer.
FRYNTYR Aug 17th, 09, 2:58 PM Tammy and I are discussing it right now. I think If we went it would be a Saturday only for us because all the time I've taken off lately, I'd like to save a bit of my vacation.
I'll keep you up to date.
Should I bring the 69 nova, or the 67 nova and squeeze it? Maybe bring Roger's 68 chevelle and run the piss out of my 355.

I hope I do not go camping....
Maybe a match race between DB in the Laguna vs Kettbo in the Elky
FRYNTYR Aug 17th, 09, 3:57 PM George,,,,, that would be a big yes! Of course the little 2200 converter will be changed by then and two other small changes so I expect 12.50's off the trailer.
kettbo Aug 17th, 09, 8:47 PM Well Doc, it would still be the only car you have besides the motor home that i might stand a chance against! I can't count TAMMY's cars.
But yes, would love to square off against The Berg in something that approximates a fair contest, mid to upper 12 second category. Probably not this weekend so don't go tearing into the Laguna just yet....
edit:
Maybe you might wanna try the ol GM25 converter, eh?l:)
OutCast Aug 18th, 09, 3:17 AM After all the fun I had at Pinks, I'm already jonesing for another weekend with my NW brethren. I can't make this event, but I am pushing really hard to make a TNT in September if anyone else is interested.
I'll be a basket case if I can't find 0.03 more in the Punisher.
10.99 just sounds so much more bada$$ than 11.02.
And it would only be fair to let 11.44 Dave have a shot at me before the season is done. :D
Sandbagger or not, he cooks one heck of a good steak.

Gotta hurry, as of Sept. 4th, Fridays nite drags are out. It's FOOTBALL season.
Mr. Monza Aug 18th, 09, 6:03 PM Taz and I will see who ever shows up, we're going Sat/Sun, found out the cuoff year is 1980, just slip under it (79).
Juhosaphat Aug 18th, 09, 6:24 PM Hmm...The one weekend off I get this month and it just happens to be this coming weekend. Me and TW may have to make an appearance  Won't be spraying, but will still be running the crap out of her trying to hit that 13.0 :D Maybe lower depending on how much weight actually came out when I gutted her. We'll see if I make it down there
loader1 Aug 19th, 09, 7:11 AM I will be there Fri, Sat, and Sunday. I'm not running Friday, so I will leave after I get in from work.
1966malibu Aug 22nd, 09, 2:48 AM Anybody else going to be there tomorrow? I will be in line at the gate by 8:00am .
cobaltchev67 Aug 22nd, 09, 3:05 AM Yeah, I'm driving out this time...no racing. Since I wasn't at full throttle last time I figure I better still get those 500 miles in(or close to it) before I really start hammering on the clutch. This trip will about double my miles:yes:.
1966malibu Aug 22nd, 09, 3:08 AM Nice, it will be great to see your car :hurray:. Are you going to enter it in the car show?
cobaltchev67 Aug 22nd, 09, 3:15 AM Nice, it will be great to see your car :hurray:. Are you going to enter it in the car show?
Car show? No....I think we've been over this subject a few hundred times before:yes:. I won't do car shows with my car, I'm too redneck and put off by them. Oh yeah, I saw a 'driver' 69 or 70 AMC Javelin 343CI at the Chevron in Bonney Lake tonight(wasn't driving my car)....too bad it had a HUGE dent in the right rear quarter panel and missing the rear valance but it sounded good and was bright GREEN:cool:. Definitely all original panels and paint w/the rear spoiler....makes me want a driver Javelin or AMX now.

Crap, 500 miles!!! I always used the 500 ft and ready to mach the throttle.
Juhosaphat Aug 22nd, 09, 1:00 PM I was thinking about coming down today but had an extremely long night last night. Didn't get in until 3 this morning. Still asleep as I type this. Have fun to everybody that goes and be safe :beers:

Party animal!
kettbo Aug 23rd, 09, 2:06 AM Waiting for TOG, and Loader1, and Cobalt Mike to post something....
Had to have been more fun there than estate sales, staining the home shingles from two weeks ago, Home Depot and Lowe's trips, trimming up shrubs and such, installing new outside lighting etc, etc.

Had some record 60's today, started with a 1.317, 1.301, 1.300, 1.299 (record) with 6.048 1/8th, all left lane then in the right lane a 1.304 with 6.047 (record) 1/8th, great to see and visit with Greg (tog)/spouse, Mike (loader)/spouse (sorry I'm really bad with names) Mike (colbalt) and Tracy. Had a nice, no pressure TNT day.
OutCast Aug 23rd, 09, 2:41 AM Awesome times, Martin.
Congratulations on your new bests !!!
You'll be outrunning the doorslammers next year the way you're going.
Mr. Monza Aug 23rd, 09, 2:49 AM I'm surprised with those 60's the E.T's weren't quicker, well the 1.299 had a 9.524, still would like to improve on the 9.488 I got in April, maybe in Sept.
Dave Aug 23rd, 09, 2:54 AM You just wait there Marty, one of these day's, you'll be there, and I'll be there at the same time. Then we'll both be there at the same time. so you just wait for it.;)

Okay Davy
1966malibu Aug 23rd, 09, 3:27 AM What a fun day :beers:.Great to see Mr Monza, Loader and Cobalt.
Ol'Blue was consistent and gave me a 13.63, 13.65, 13.58 and a 13.55 all right around 100mph. Its driver though really needs to be more consistent on my RT's. I was all over the place today .
Martin it was great to watch the grin on your face grow every time you improved your 60'. Nice job on showing us how to get it done .
Mike(Cobalt) the car is outstanding give your self a huge pat on the back for the build you did :hurray:.
Mike(Loader) sorry for your bad luck . I know the red rocket will be back and running soon. A huge thank you for allowing me and my wife to hang out in your great motor home :D.
cobaltchev67 Aug 23rd, 09, 4:10 AM Great to see everyone again, and visit....always a good day at the track no matter the results.
Martin was definitely smiling ear to ear, and that's fun to see:thumbsup:. I love your car, and you have done a great job laying it out and putting it together. Tracy was definitely impressed with it....the paint color is one of my favorites:yes:, it's easy for me to find you in that mass of cars/people.
Mike, tough luck today....I think you are on the right track with wanting a dedicated track car. Driving a manual trans car is definitely harder on parts as well as the pilot.
TOG, great to see your family at the track and Ol' Blue putting down consistent times. I have visions of a 9000 RPM 283 in your future.....:D
EDIT Forgot to mention I made it back to Bonney Lake just fine even with the oil pressure gauge reading 12psi the whole way when warm.....going to check out the sending unit tomorrow. If I have to tear my whole drivetrain apart again to fix the oil pressure problem and the rear pan seal leak in the process, I may just find that Jerico and S-60 under the car sooner than expected.

Taz took 16 years to get to this point (still in transformation) and I've own him for 25 years.
T'was a fun time and you folks are great!!!!!!
Glad you made it home, if you don't want to tear it apart, change your oil to gear lube, that should help with the pressure:D We know someone who would try it;)
Thanks to you guys being observant, the valance/bumper notches have been updated, THANKS!!!!.
gotago Aug 23rd, 09, 9:11 PM What happened to Loader?
1966malibu Aug 23rd, 09, 9:16 PM On his fifth pass he took out first gear :(. Mike was disappointed to say the least. But you know he will find a way to upgrade for next time .

Thanks TOG. I keep telling him to get the new Richmond that can handle 600 ft lbs of torque but I think he's got other plans.
Glad you and ole blue did well, I can't wait to get back and start turning wrenches on my pig.........................

FRYNTYR Aug 24th, 09, 12:26 AM The glove would work well activating a fogger system.

Oh yea, that's me!:D
Well even though the trans is broke, I had a fun time. We got to hang out with TOG and family. C Mike showed up late in the day stylin' the '67. And we got to meet Martin and watch he and Taz do the wheelie thing to packed stands that had everyone on their feet.:hurray: I have some pretty cool vids that I will load up tonight when I get in.
Hey Mark, I went for a ride with Roger and the 322 fuel injected Nailhead. He is a crazy old geezer! He had a pretty exciting pass later in the day which you will see when I put the vids up.
I have been looking for a dedicated racecar. I am not in a hurry. It will have to be the right car.
Mr. Monza Aug 24th, 09, 10:34 AM That sucks about your trans!!!!!!!! Still, it was a blast EH?
1966malibu Aug 25th, 09, 11:04 PM Martin If you get a chance check this out .
