Finally got it running today. One of the distributor wires pulled out of the plug and could not figure out for the longest time why I had no ignition. Sounds amazing!!

I think it will fit under normal cowl hood with right air cleaner.

James, how about a side shot and interior shot too? Sweet 71 man. Is the 632 pump gas friendly?

I'll have to take some more shots though it is in need of paint next. The engine is 10.75 to 1 compressions so pump gas friendly though they recommend using 50/50 VP and pump 92 when racing or using the nitrous since it is a nitrous prepped engine with all the right parts for strength.

Here is some right out of the shop when I got it back-halfed.

What exact back half kit did you use? I'm about to order one for my 68' and have only been looking at chassisworks stuff. I want to go with a 4link setup, a 31*20 tire, what is the frame width you went with?

I believe it was a Competition Engineering kit they used. It was the one that comes all seperate so you can space it to whatever you want. Not sure of the exact frame width though I could get under and measure when I get a chance.

Mine is a mismatch of parts, but I used the S&W rails and Chassis Engineering ladder bar setup. If I recall, mine is 28" center to center. I can check when I get home. Mine has a 16X32 slick in it.

Hooker Super Competition. Only 2 inch, so eventually will need some bigger ones.

Nice going James!:thumbsup: I sure would like to see (and HEAR) a start-up vid. Care to share your cam specs? Is it a solid roller? It's gonna be a bit tight getting it under a stock cowl hood, but if I did it with a Dominator carb and a 3.5" tall filter element, then you should be able to also. I also have a Merlin X intake manifold which I think is slightly taller than the one you probably have. I'm thinking that you have an Edelbrock Victor Jr. on there.

BTW, I'm kinda curious as to how they got the same power numbers out of that conventional headed 632 of yours as they claim to get out of their 632 engine which has the Big Chief heads on it. Here below, which is their $21,000 engine....

I did take a cell phone video of start up, but not the best quality. It should be back in the thread here somewhere. With the right drop element I might be able to fit the cowl hood but I want to upgrade to a 4 inch fiberglass one anyway.

It is a Merlin X intake with extensive work done to it. It is a Comp Cam solid roller based more on a race engine. Can't remember the spec's off hand but I think in the 700's. I took the 380 Darts and did everything possible as far as porting, titanium values, you name it to get the power numbers. Probably not that high with my small headers. The compression may be sightly higher than 10.75, maybe closer to 11 to 1. Kind of like their "Saturday Night Special" in the 632 but they don't advertise it.

Even with all this and the 1150 Dominator it still runs smoother than my 454 I had. I think I mentioned in the thread that it is nitrous prepped too with the right crank and all the options for it.

So it was a bit of off the shelf order and custom build to what I wanted to do.

Here is the video, it is in another thread in Prostreet:

YouTube- 1971 632 Chevelle 1000HP (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuaZ9hUnRSs)James,didn't you get a cam card with the engine? I did with mine. Anyway, let us know if you ever take a vid of it with a cam corder, or atleast a digital camera. ;) If you have the same Merlin-X and a Dominator carb, the tallest air filter element you'll probably be able to get under the stock cowl hood is a 3.5" tall 16" diameter one. That's what I did, but even with that, I had to buy a custom made 16" diameter drop base air cleaner assembly from a place in canada called Universal spinners. I ordered it with a 2" drop base which is about the most you can drop it. The guy did a fantastic job. Here's their website in case you decide to use a factory cowl hood....the air cleaner assembly is part#A004
