I pulled off the dash of my 71 chevelle to repaint it and when i pulled off the speedometer the needle that tells the speed broke off the odometer. I was wondering if their is anyway to replace the needle or do i have to replace the whole thing? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

If the needle is broken off, you're better off replacing the guts instead of trying to repair it. My first thought would be that the needle may have jusy come off the shaft, in which case it can be pushed back on.
Don't know how to tell you to line it up in the exact right position though. http://bestsmileys.com/clueless/4.gif

Jon is right... I believe it has a slight tension from a small spring and once it gets past the stop - you have lost your calibration. Maybe a speedometer shop could fix it for you?
