I am going through my recovered land rover and I found a parking ticket in it to another car. I'm thinking it might give me a lead as to who stole my car.

I don't want to pay for an online search for only one use. Does anyone here have the ability to run a plate and give me the info on it?

When I have requested that info from a DMV, they tell me that they cannot give it out. So, if you have a friend in law enforcement or DMV, that would be you best bet.

So, I'm thinking that if you gave it to the cops since you had a vehicle stolen (and recovered, but the crime is still a crime), they would do the leg work for you.... that is where I would go.

I tried that. I have left a few messages for them but they don't seem like it's a high priority.

I get the feeling that since I have my vehicle back, their job is done and they have bigger things to worry about.

I have two reasons for asking. 1) if it is another car that was stolen, I may be able to get a hold of the owner and give them their stereo and ashtray that were in my car.
2) possibly find the guy that stole my car and get some of my stuff back, or at the very least let him know I know who he is and will be watching him.
