Im home now. Wow what a great time  I left early as it was two pretty long days and our guys didnt get picked. I can watch the rest on TV:D

All I can say is that John (Outcast) did an awesome job of driving today:thumbsup: I will let him let you know the #s.

It was an honor to be his crew cheif and he did his part with his driving to give himself a great chance to make it but they decided to go with a faster class of cars.

It was a good event from what I saw, and nobody I talked to said they had any 'event staff' problems(I did ask). The final 4 cars were exciting to say the least:yes:.....let's just say when you guys see it on TV(for those who didn't see it) it was good racing.

The odds for a 12 second field were slim, but I had a blast. Ran a new personal best of 12.60 at 106.75 and had Ken Herring sign the timeslip. For all the complaints about Rich, he is a great showman. I give him kudos for fessing up to being a douchebag in the episode where he wiped out on the motorcycle! :D

Well that was one hell of a show, and a good time. I have a LOAD of pictures, I took over 900 during the whole weekend. Darryl and Tammy were gracious as always and fed Mel and I... Darryl ran low 11's all weekend as did John, Martin and Jimmy D had good passes with Jim getting an all time fast run I think. The show was worth the 20+ hours we spent there and nothing better than watching Kevin do his imitation of Rich from Pinks do his arm drop. We had great weather, and as you guys will see from the pics the cars were amazing. Only bad part of the weekend for me was the fact that they it looked like they ran a 10.50 or so class andd I would have been right around there times. Oh well next time........ Thank you to everyone, I was a blast.

They picked the wrong Group,,,,,,,,,... John and I ran 11.02 and 11.04 all runs less our firsts in the 11.0's. How cool would it have been to end up running each other for the title! We both made the field for our times had they picked it.

My last run I ran heads up run to make our field with another fat tire early nova that had ran a 11.05 the previous run and I had had a 11.04. Closest race I've ever had and didn't know who made it to the line first. Although they didn't pick our group, I finished with a smile. Only possible run that would have been better would have been lined up against my buddy John in the Punisher.

On another note, the most inspirational and best run I've ever watched or ran was Jim's lone run with the entire Crowd on their feet applauding him. I almost missed it and ran my ass off to get to the stands when I heard what was happeneing.

It was amazing and emotional for me and made my eyes water to watch. I'm proud to be friends with Jim and wish him the very best.

It was really great to see the large turnout of TCNW members and their famlies/buddies!!!!!!!! just by chance I got a primo pit spot. after the first pass Sat, at the E.T. booth they gave me an invite to a wheelie contest but it didn't evolve, too busy with 24 second big rigs. I had set the bars as high as they would go but didn't get to try it out, uhmmm TNT I guess!!

That was a riot. It was great to hang out with everybody and see so many people from TC. I think everyone in our group ran personal best times. My buddy Gary with the '65 orange Nova ran a p.r. of 10.02, so he was ecstatic.

Huge thanks to Kevin for crew chiefing for me. As things started to get more serious, he was big time help for me in the lanes, getting staged, taking video, and helping me rip my car apart trying to lose some more unnecessary weight to find that elusive 10 second slip.

I'm really happy with every run I got to make. I was able to get 5 full throttle bottle passes in. First three runs were on the pro tree, last 2 were against Rich's arm drop.

Run one I was a little anxious and got squirrelly at about the 330, and had to back out of it. Still ran a best ever of 11.30. Next pass, I had the butterflies under control and was able to hook it right up and knocked down an 11.09. :hurray:

Day 2, Kevin and I stripped the exhaust system and passenger seat out of the punisher, threw in 2 more degrees of timing, bolted on Mike Parker's skinnies, (THANKS A TON, Mike !!!) and were rewarded with an 11.02 at 118.

Next run it was beat the floating minimum and arm drop time. As per Martin's advice, the second Rich twitches, it's hammer time. I ran against a nice older fat tire Camaro, and it was fender to fender. He beat me with a 10.96 to my 11.09. However, at the time slip booth, the girl said the computer screwed up, so that run didn't count and we were told to run again.

On that 5th and final run, they lined me up against a beautiful flamed orange Willys. He is definitely on TV, as he went for one very sketchy ride on the previous pass. He lost it at about 3/4 track and veered right at the other guy, narrowly missing him and the wall. Some good luck and good driving there.

I said a quiet prayer hoping he wouldn't try that again with me trailing a second behind him.:noway: The punisher again layed down a run that counted, beating the floating minimum and matching my 11.02 from earlier in the morning.

It would've been awesome to have run Darryl, as that will probably be the only time I'll get to run close with Tammy's car ;), and it would have been nice to be in the show, or crack into the 10's, but there is always next time.

Thanks to everyone for their kind words and gracious hospitality towards me. I had a great time and look forward to seeing you all again soon. :)

note the slicks with 8 psi im them and how hard the bump stop on the slapper bars just hammered against the springs

Hey PNB,

Check out your motor pass to my nitrous pass last year with the purge solenoid in place of the superpowershot... I guessed before you ran it you'd be 11.9-12.1...
I think you're an easy 11.90 with a dialed in 60'.

Your time from this weekend...

first outing with the 355
60'-1.957 spinnin hard out of the hole
330-5.275
1/8-7.997
mph-89.98
1000-10.368
1/4-12.38
mph-111.36

My time with the Voodoo cam and about an 80-100 shot...

10/19/08

R/T .137
60' 1.72
330 4.89
1/8 7.59
MPH 90.77
1000' 9.96
1/4 11.97
MPH 111.4

You actually gained more mph in the 2nd half than I did with a small shot.

I think you're gonna need a cage over the winter.

Thanks for letting me know Greg. The file on my hard drive is 10 minutes long and goes until after he talks to the lady regarding his timeslip (you can't hear the conversation but I know what was said).

I'm trying to upload it again, maybe photobucket has issues with long video?

The camera's are pretty cool, it has 4hrs or battery life and hold 4 hrs of VGA 640x480 video. It only has one switch and it doubles as a lens cover/on/off button. The one hour version is $199, this version is $399.

We'll find out in a few minutes if Photobucket will cooperate or not.
Watched it crawl to 60% and then jump to 100% complete. When I viewed it, it was only the first 60% of the video that I'm trying to load.

Was there with the blue malibu with black hood and red Canadian Tire decals.
Was asked e.t at tech , and I guessed 10.01 , well as luck would have it first pass on Friday was 10.01 next pass had an issue with the line lock and pushed the car out of the burnout box.
Spun on launch and was behind the guy in the other lane but managed to catch & beat him
and ran a 10.47 (in hindsight should have run this time on Saturday as well , lol).
Saturday was warmer and our car loves the heat and was faster. Ran a 9.905 on the tree
and a 9.903 off Rich's arm drop.
Was a real good experience as we are new to dragracing .
Enjoyed the whole weekend and the company of the many friendly racers that were there.
