I was in today making some purchases for the rear suspension of the 69 and got talking with the guy at the counter (you guys know how it is smile.gif ) and he told me that hotchkis used to manufactuer the boxed rear lower control arms for edelbrock and then edelbrock kinda stopped using hotchkis and started making their own i use "their" loosely and so edelbrock and hotckis rear boxed lower control arms are almost exact! anybody heard of this?

Brian,
I would actually be surprised if Hotchkis or Edelbrock have facilities that manufacture these parts in house.

For instance Edelbrock (don't know if they still do this) would buy springs from Eibach and sell them under the Edelbrock name.

Its all about investment verses the amount of time it would take to make back the money you've invested in equipment/man hours/capital etc. to determine if you want a supplier to make the parts (outsource) or buy the equipment, man the machines etc. and build them in house.

But yes, I've heard that Hotchkis' supplier also made Edelbrock's control arms.
