At 11:00 one of my employees got an emergency call to get home, his 2 month old daughter was having trouble breathing and the wife had called EMT for help.

By the time he arrived home, the baby had stopped breathing twice and had been revived.
On the way to the hospital, she died.

I'm bummed - the whole office had held the little girl and played with her.

So sorry to hear that... Such a sad thing to happen. I have two little ones and that is completely unthinkable. Hope the family makes it through OK....

Geez Mike, that really hits home as my daughter is this minute driving up from Portland with our new grandson. Can't even imagine how any parent can get through that. Prayers going out from Spokane for not only the family, but for the friends that also care for them.

That is always a unsettling feeling.
Just made me think of a sweet little girl that would have been 18 this year!
She was my sisters step granddaughter. I babysat her one afternoon when she was 5 months old and we played like you do with a baby that age and she was just cooing and laughing. Well I left out for Tacoma Wa. that afternoon and when I called home the next morning my wife tells me that just a hour before she was found not breathing in her crib and had passed.
It tore me up like it was my own!
Sorry to hear about the little one.

Crap, and here I am whining about my kid getting hit by a car and walking away from it.

Thoughts and prayers go out...

Thank you guys.... I will pass the thoughts on to him and his wife. He will be out until when? I don't know - it will take a while.

We came close to having our daughter die numerous times before her transplant...but I cannot imagine the sadness that they are experiencing.

Please let him know that his daughter will be in our prayers...and please try to be there for him. People tend to shy away when things like this happen...it's a natural reaction.

Sometimes....he may just want you to sit and listen to what he's feeling!:beers:

Bruce - I won't shy away from him - I listened to his tears on the phone as he told me... he is a great employee and the company will be there for him when he gets back to work.

Sadly, she was having trouble from her birthdate and was pretty weak - but cute as a button. The good Lord can hold her now....

Crap wish I never read this post. My heart goes out to to the family. Sorry your bummed cause this bums me out too, more so cause I have girls and I worry about their well being all the time. If anything like that happened to my girls I'd go bezerk.
