is it normal for the upper control arms to basically crush the top bumper stops after a rebuild.I just finished a complete rebuild of the front suspension and after reinstalling the same front springs,I have noticed that the top bumpers are being crushed. Will this correct itself after the engine is reinstalled and the frame is resting back on the wheels? Thanks guys

Yes that should correct your problem
You may want to loosen the 3/8 bolts on the ends of the shafts until the car is assembled and on the ground.

Thanks Badboy for the reply.I thought that I had a problem. Are you suggesting that I loosen the bolts on the ends of the cross shafts?Just want to make sure that I am understanding you correctly.

I think that's what he's saying. If you use rubber bushings they will 'preload' if you tighten them without any weight on them. Once you drop the car they will twist and remain that way. They say that poly bushings won't preload, you grease them up and they'll turn inside the sleeve, no preload. If you do loosen them do the bottom ones as well as the same thing can happen to them.
