Hey guys, I know a few of you are running the TKO trans...Well, here is my issue im looking for an answer to:

Put a TKO-600 in my chevelle, went in pretty easy.. So I finally got my 500 miles on it and the clutch..So I went out and throttled on the car a bit..So when Im shifting for second to third under hard throttle it doesnt want to go into 3rd..anyone have any ideas??..Im affraid one of these times Im actually going to let out the clutch and break this thing..So is there something Im missing here or am I just going to have to shift it real easily for now on??...I want to put my chevelle down the track a few times and with this issue I wont be able to...Someone have any ideas??

Should just be able to jam her in. They are semi notchy transmissions. Its more of a push forward than an over and forward. Clutch adjusted out far enough?

Like Brett said, just push the stick forward with the heel of your hand and it will go right in. The shifter is spring loaded to the left and right. Don't try to "find" third like you did with the Muncies or you'll miss it every time. Mine is also seems to be sensitive to how far I push the clutch in, I have to make sure the clutch is fully engaged. And it seems the longer you run it, the easier it shifts so get out there and put some miles on it:thumbsup:

Ahhh..another person finds a problem that "doesnt exist" with the 2-3rd gear shift!

That said, I've been hitting 3rd everytime following Mark's recommendation.

open palm shifting is the answer... don't TRY to put it in gear... just shift it ;)

mine shifts so smooth. i love it, i can't say i BEAT on it but i've been pretty harsh and it slides so smooth. i LOVE my TKO :D

Mine felt a lot smoother after a fluid change at 1000 miles also.

I missed a 2-3 shift on the way to CB this year..... went into 1st. no big rpms no damage.

Only problem was I had a guy with me with a bigger mouth than Joe E. Brown.
