: woohoo...my HTH truckarm kit is here
69boo307 Apr 10th, 03, 8:36 PM There is some cool stuff in here smile.gif . I can't wait to get my 8.5" done, and install this thing.

I also have pics of the front springs and shocks on there..the rest of the front kit, minus brakes, is on it's way.
I read the article in HR, and still wonder, WHY? graemlins/clonk.gif
Are you going to cut off the hangers from the frame?
TronDD Apr 10th, 03, 8:58 PM Cool. I'm interested in seeing how that goes. I almost went with this kit myself but had new control arms already and it was just easier to stay with the 4 link.
Tim.

69boo307 Apr 11th, 03, 7:10 AM DG, if you're ever in NC again after I finish the car, I'll take you for a ride in it, and I think the 'why' will answer itself. It'll be more like 'wow!' smile.gif
You're actually the only TC member that I've met in person, when you came down here a couple years ago.

Brian,
Hey, Glad you remebered me. I may get back that way come summer.
You aren't goona put the HRH arm on the Green 69 Chevelle are you? That was a nice almost stock car! I remember you were a little down on the 307. Are you gonna swap in more cubes?
Keep me posted. I have a friend, who is president of our local Chevelle club doing a frame-off modification on a 69 Right now.

By the way, a pic of my car is in the members rides section.
69boo307 Apr 11th, 03, 5:56 PM Yes, that's the same car you saw that time...I still have the original 307 (actually it's about a 314 now)... it's going to be in the car for a good while to come. I may even take a notion to keep it permanently, and make it into something interesting.
The suspension and brakes just had to be redone though, and I decided if I was going to do it, might as well go all out with it!
My ultimate goal is to build a heck of a sleeper that looks like an original 69 Malibu, but doesn't behave like one. If this was an original SS, I might think twice before doing something like the truckarm kit... but a stock Malibu is never going to be extremely valuable, especially not a low-optioned one with a 307 and powerglide. I think this will only increase it's value, and will definitely increase my enjoyment driving it.
If you're back here this summer, it's unlikely I'll have the car finished yet... but not out of the question.

The answer is:
1) To eliminate the inherent bump and roll steer exhibited by stock four-link Chevelle rear suspensions
2) To increase rear traction and eliminate wheel hop under acceleration without the binding one gets from aftermarket replacement control arms
3) To dramatically improve ride quality
4) Dynamic roll stability under acceleration
5) Eliminate lateral rear axle displacement under hard cornering
6) Adjustable ride height
Better straight line and drag strip handling AND better ride. You have to feel it to believe it. The perfect pro-touring suspension. The next few magazine articles that are coming out will have empirical data and driving reviews. We will be adding customer comments to out web site soon as well.
Regards,
Greg
