: Front to Rear brake line, Please Help!

I have a 70 Chevelle that was originally a 4 wheel power drum brake car. I have done the C4 Corvette conversion on the front, but the rear is still stock. I recently developed a leak in the rear line where it connects to the rear flex hose, and upon inspection decided that I needed to replace the flex hose, and the long line that runs from front to rear of the car. Ausley's only listed one line for my car, and the rep assured me it was the correct one. Well, I got it from them, and it is too short!! My original line was one piece all the way from the distribution block to the rear flex hose; however, this line that they sent me is two pieces...one that is the long piece, and another little short piece that is only about 8-10" long. The bends seem to be correct in the front portion of the car and everything, but it simply is not long enough, and the bends at the rear are completey incorrect. Does anyone know anything about this damned lines??

I remember that my old Camaro had a residual valve for the rear brakes, it was located under the drivers door....I'm wondering if the original disc brake Chevelles had these too, and perhaps if so, it was located near the rear of the car...maybe thats why I got two pieces?

I've been working on these brakes for months now, and I am nearing the end of my patience with this crap...it won't take much more before I return to being a Camaro guy! smile.gif So Please, Please help if you can!! The guys at Ausley's haven't been very helpful at all this time around.

Thanks,
Rreemo

Keep the long piece from ausley's and buy a lenght of line to reach the rest of the way, using your old line to as a pattern,or send the lines back to ausley's for a refund, and contact classic tube or others for the correct ONE piece line!

Okay, I think that's what I'll do...I was thinking that I would just get a piece of line from Napa, and a female/female junction, and extend it the rest of the way.

Thanks.

Yes that is correct.

I've spoken to more folks about this, and read quite a bit more...seems that folks are a bit divided on using one...some folks are saying that they didn't see a difference with or without the valve.

Nevertheless, I'm going to see how it feels without the valve, and keep looking for one in the mean-time.

Thanks again for the replies!
