I always see these taller ball joints in oval track catalogs like Speedway. Has anyone used one of these on a Chevelle front suspension. Seems like it might be an easier swap then the tall spindles conversion.

I read a post on these a while ago, but no one at the time had used them.

Seems like a good alternative to the b-body spindles.

Here's something else that may be another alternative to the tall spindles.

The 67-69 Camaro upper ball joint is the same as A- body. At least that's what my Moog catalog says. Wonder if anyone has used this.

I know for the camaros. So I've read the that extender actually makes the spidle to tall for optimun camber gain.

Here's a link to the taller ball joint. If it works.

I wish it gave more info on it though. I guess if the taper matched the spindle of the chevelle, it'd work.

that tapper will not fit chevelle. the b-body tall spindles have the metric taper not the chevelle. besides the advantage of going with tall spindles is much more then the hight. for one thing the tall spindles are available in 12" rotor size. the tall spindle is benificial but what gives you the most out of the conversion is a shorter distance between the pivot points of the upper control arm.

My .02...

The physical forces exerted on pivot points of the front end are such that, in my opinion, you put your life in the hands of a handful of 'very small' allen bolts, and the structural integrity of the 'extender housing'.

Safety first!

I actually had a ball joint nut fail and pull all it's threads (the 'steel' cotter pin saved me...and no, it was not previously damaged, at least to my inspection, or over-torqued).

The F-body spindle swap is NOT that expensive (less than 1 year's life insurance premiums).

Go with the taller joint, or the tall spindle, and let the thrill seekers go with the little 'gimmick'.
