I have a 64 chevelle ss with a 10 bolt non pos with a 3:36 gear. It is the factory rear end and I think its referred to as an 8.2" I am wanting to change to a pos with a 3:73 gear. Can anyone give me a list of items that I will need for this project and maybe some suggestions on brands. I don't want to go all out and spend a ton just something reliable. I have turned many wrenches but never been inside of a rear end.

I recommend the Eaton Posi. It's far better than the Auburn. You will also need a good installation kit. A good kit can make the job much easier. A bad kit can make it more difficult. I can help with the parts and prices. Send me an email at biggearhead@bellsouth.net if you are interested.
