: Stainless front hose?

I recently purchased and installed a set of earl's stainless brake hoses for my 71. The car originaly had 4 wheel drums but has been converted to front discs. When watching horse power tv this weekend they put some stainless hoses on their shoe box project and they were 15" long with a big coil of slack. My lines were probably 8" - 10" long and had a little slack when the wheel is turned all the way, but nothing like theirs. Do you need different hoses for a drum to disc conversion than an original disc car?

I *just* finished putting the second brake hose on the '67 last night from a front drum/disc conversion. I had the two hoses sitting side by side on the floor for a while. They are not notable different in length. They do have a small amount of slack, but nothing like you describe on the TV show.

My guess is that, because a shoebox Chevy never had discs to begin with, they were using some sort of compromise in the area of hose length. They probably couldn't find anything shorter that would fit the application.

I wouldn't worry about yours at all. As long as they allow for free and complete movement of the steering I think you'll be fine.
