Hey, I have a 70 and was wondering if my lower control arm bushings are oval or round? I haven't pulled the old ones off and can't tell by just looking at them for sure....I'm ordering the cars entire suspension setup tommorow and just want to be certain. Are they round or oval??? Thanks

They could be either since both types were used.

Okay guys...I really need help here. I'm ordering everything tommorow and just took a close look at the car. It appears the lower control arms up front have round bushings on the ends closest to the radiator and oval ones closest to the firewall. Does this sound right to anyone?? Any help before 8am tommorow would be appreciated

If you do a search here I think you'd find that yes, it was possible to have both round and oval on the same car.

There is NO way to tell unless you actually look/touch. Its really easy to tell. The front bushing on the control arms around round and about an inch in diameter. The rear ones are either oval or round. You can really tell by feel, they have 2 inches of flat spot on them (they are very oval) just reach under and feel it. if it feels flat, its oval.
I just pressed in my new bushings last night, I hate presses! I still don't have the hang of them yet.

okay, just wanted to make sure I wasn't retarded (well I guess there is no way to be sure ;) ) My rears are definitely oval, then as they do have that flat spot and the fronts are round. Thanks for your help. I'm actually going to pay for them right now...ALL BMR fabrication suspension...black powdercoated control arms and sway bars....nice stuff!!! Thanks again.
