If it's performance you're after,I'd either stick with 18's all-around or consider a 18/19 combo.
I am much happier with 18's at all four corners...

PS:I bought a '72 El Camino that had a 17/18 combo and I hated the look of that too...17's look too small IMO on these cars,again...18's all-around would be my call.;)

fronts are Nitto 245/45/17's....rear are 285/40/18's......clearance?..not a lot....but enuff it doesn't bottom the crossmember.....NOW.....if your pan hangs lower than the crossmember (like mine does right now)...thats another story :D

18/18 or 18/19 stay away from 18/20 IMO If you have to do 20 us a 19 up front. To me though 20's look too tall and skinny unless you mini tub and do 20 x 12

Awesome ride! How much is your car lowered front and rear? Also what width were the 20's? Any problems with the rubbing? Thanks

Thanks.

Though many have asked,I can't really honestly answer that question because I bought the car in 2001 pretty much how it sits and am unsure of the modifications.

The 20's were only 8" wide and they had 285/30 rubber if I remember correctly, there were no fitment issues.
The wheels I currently run are 18x9/18x10's with 275/35 & 305/35 rubber and I am much happier...
