I am looking for the rod that goes into the vacume booster and pushes on the mastercylinder. I have the short one I need the longer one for my 69 Chevelle with power disc brakes.
Is there any where you can buy these beside a junk yard.

There are several ways around your situation.
1)Check with Steve Gregary (sp) the brake booster rebuilder. It may not be easy to change that rod on your booster, you may have to send it in.
2)Get an earlier booster with a long rod to fit your master.
3)If you want to keep your master cylinder casting, change the piston in your master cylinder with one for a 71-72 master cylinder which use the short rod. Usually it's cheaper to buy a rebuilt master and pull the piston out than it is to buy a rebuild kit. Then you just return the empty core.
4)Get a master cylinder for a 71 Chevelle.

I replaced the piston it worked out great. Thanks for the tip chevl71, I am back on the road.
