I have been looking at the disc brake conversion kit from ground up for my 68 malibu. The kit looks like is has everything needed. I am planning on purchasing all new lines for the rear brakes at the same time and rebuilding the stock rear drums.

Does anyone here have any experience with the kit from ground up? Is this a good quality kit? Any recommendations or installation tips.

I see there is an option for a 9" or 11" booster and a square or round master cylinder. Which ones will work and/or look best on my 307 malibu?

Any and all help, guidance and opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tim

I used a kit from Master Power on my 68 and had good luck. I would go with the 11" booster option for sure. Just measure and make sure you have the clearance to the valve cover. It shouldn't be a problem with a 307.

hello
i used a kit on my 69 camaro from cpp.........
i had problems with 2 things

when i went to put on my 15x7 ralley wheels they
hit the tie rod/spindle arm. Cpp wasn't any help
they recommended me to buy 16/17 wheels to have more clerence... I had to have 3 custom built 15x6 with 3.5
back spacing ralley wheels made {1 for spare}
other option was 1 in wheel spacers that was too much
offset and wheel rubbed inner fender

also had two new boosters go bad..3rd one is sitting
in the garage..i got a reman unit and put it on while waiting for 3rd one..its been on about 7 or 8 months

i truely wished the set up had worked better
it was easy to install.

hope this helps
