Hi fellow Chevelle lovers, have I got a weird question--I've found a complete 1969 Chevelle front disk brake set so I can convert my drums...from a parts car out-of-state. But the shipping estimate is outrageous. Can anybody "guesstimate" the typical weights for a spindle, disk and caliper, master and booster. I'm told that they're in good shape, but the decision may rest with UPS! Thanks for your help. John

Wow. I can't say for sure, but I'm thinking somewhere in the neighboorhood of 150-200 pounds. I picked up a set of disc brakes with a booster from the guy I bought my '69 from, and they were EXTREMLY heavy.

call Master Power and ask them what the shipping weight on one of their stock front disc brake conversions is. that uses the same parts.

I have shipped brakes before. Each spindle assy without the caliper was around 25lbs. pair of calipers was another 10lbs. Booster and prop valve was another 25 lbs. So at least 85 lbs worth of iron there.
