I have the F body spindles bolted in place in my 67. I have moog 5536 springs in place. They needed no compression to install. These are 15 inches tall. Right now, with the car up on jacks and no tires, the front suspension is at the bottom of travel and the spring is actually not tight at all. I do not have the KYB shocks yet, maybe they will hold the lower a frame a little higher? Never having done this, and removing a stock 18 inch spring when I started, I am beginning to wonder. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
That's pretty normal with the replacement springs. Seems they make them slightly different where they use a little thicker wire, so they don't need to be as tall. You are correct tho, once you get the shocks in there, they should limit the travel enough to keep them snug in their holes!

Thanks Bill, it was a litle unnerving when I finally bolted everything up! The KYBs arrived last night, so they are going in first thing this AM. Man, does it look different! I am going with the plated Powerslot rotors up front and I am changing to a 3.73 in the rear from a 2.73. Should be a much different ride! Thanks again graemlins/beers.gif
You didn't reuse the stock lower ball joint did you? redface.gif
For the lower ball joint to bolt to the F-body spindle, you need a stock F-body spindle with the base turned down to fit the stock lower control arm. Otherwise, you won't be able to use a cotter pin to keep the castle nut from backing off. :(
This is asssuming you are using every thing else stock from the 67 except the spindles. graemlins/clonk.gif
