I am considering getting some of the BAER tracker bump steer correctors for my '65 with b-body spindles (I just saw that they now have them for 64-67).

Anybody have any good or bad experience with them?

BB Mike has these on his '71 (or is it a '72?? ;) ) with stock spindles.

I don't know of anyone with tall spindles and them. Nor do I know anyone who has put them through the bumpsteer tests that airrj has graciously performed for us.

Charles,

After doing a bump steer test on my '72 with B-body spindles I believe that the outer tie rod end needs to be raised to help the bump steer. The Baer kit will only let you raise the outer tie rod end a very small amount as far as I can tell. So, no I have no real experience with the kit, but I am skeptical as to the effectiveness on your car.

If you are interested in performing a bump steer test on your car let me know and I can help you out with the test. I have a plate made and you would need a dial indicator and a stand. Also, you would need to remove your front springs and shocks to perform the test. If you did buy a bump steer kit you would need to perform this test to find out where to install your tie rod. Here (http://www.buffnet.net/~airrj/Bump_Steer.htm) is the results that I got on my car.

Let me know what happens. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Ah, a little late on the post put better late then never I guess. smile.gif Another alternative to to raising the outer tie rod is to lower the inner tie rod placement as was done on a G Body. Jeff from the Monte list has a page setup with what he did. He had the tall spindle setup that many A body guys use at the time. Hope this helps out.
