: GNX Rear suspension

I've been searching for a way to upgrade my rear suspension, and I stumbled across a repro GNX rear suspension system that's very similar to the F-body suspension. It works with the two stock lower arms, a ladder bar, and a panhard bar. It supposedly eliminates all squat and all twisting of the back end on launch. What I'm interested in though is whether or not it's any good for cornering, when compared to the stock 4 link. It's a pretty expensive swap, at 2000 US, plus some other upgrades, and a new rear differential to work with it (so like, 3500 US, installed). What do you guys think of the dynamics of this suspension? Does anyone know what a fully independent rear end goes for? surely it can't be much more expensive than this.

look at the hotrods to hell truckarm suspension. It seems to be what you are looking for and in right about the same price range. If you are going to go with IRS it is going to be very expensive.

Wow, another suspension to throw in the mix!! that's excellent though, that's almost exactly what I had dreamed up when I was supposed to be paying attention in class. it looks cheaper than the GNX setup, as well as simpler, and simpler is better... Thanks a lot! graemlins/hurray.gif

I've been doing some thinking about that truckarm deal, and it seems to me that you'd hav ea tough time regulating roll. there doesn't seem to be any anti roll bar or anything there. Can anyone educate me on this?

Can anyone educate me on this? I guess the quick answer to your question would be "They use a Panhard bar, which puts the roll center wherever the bar pivots at the axle"

All that after typing 300 words (2 glasses of rum worth) and deleting it after I read it over. I gave only the quick answer. If you need the HD answer, Steve Smith Autosports has some good books on suspensions.
