: My Skunk Works
Jim_D Aug 3rd, 09, 11:24 PM Well after reading the Pinks rules I see I don't have a choice in using a backup driver so I am driving in Pinks but there will be a change in the looks of the car, I just hope for the better.

FourEightyNine Aug 3rd, 09, 11:45 PM What are the plans with the rig Jim?
It looks like I will be going to Pinks as a crew chief for a friend of mine with a nova. Looks really close to the old WF nova, but has a 598 under the hood that makes north of 1000hp N/A:yes:

Sorry boys, but my money is on my Canadian brother, Ben.
Yes, George and Chad have been at the track more lately, but I am confident Ben will bring it on.
Ben, it's go time. Time to bring it.

Jim_D Aug 4th, 09, 11:36 AM Jim, How are you feeling? Everything go ok and are you healing up ok?
Hope all is well,
Shoulder surgery was a piece of cake compared to all the other surgeries I have had in the past. My main concern is getting into my one piece fire suit and buckling up my 5 point belt, other than that with a help from people I will and should be able to race.
Mr. Berg, you back yet?
By the vapor trails you leave behind, your skunk was never broken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If I could only harness the energy from my vapor trails....... :D
Juhosaphat Aug 4th, 09, 11:59 AM You'll just need a good crew chief to help you out, that's all
EvilMouse Aug 4th, 09, 2:24 PM Don't worry about buckling in Jim, there will be more than enough of us around to help out.
cobaltchev67 Aug 4th, 09, 2:43 PM I'm thinking it would be a good idea for someone to be at the end of the track should Jim want or need to get out of the car on any of his runs.....just a precaution for his safety. With plenty of people there not running, I'm sure at least one person could be designated to do that.
FRYNTYR Aug 4th, 09, 5:14 PM Mr. Berg, you back yet? :D
I'LL be home in about 30 hours, our time. I leave Germany in about 6-7 hours

You're kidding right? If Jim's car catches fire, with as mush GAS as the old fart has in Him, I'm not getting anywhere near him to unbuckle him.:noway:
JNorton Aug 4th, 09, 10:03 PM If you are changing the look of the car...there better still be 1000 skulls on that thing when I see it on Pinks! With that paint job you'll be in there for sure even if you don't make it to the end.
66 Buick Special Aug 4th, 09, 10:33 PM The title had me wondering if Jim was changing the Headhunter once again...
I thought he might be going for what Darryl would call a "self-portrait" theme.
I know it's a '70 but you get the idea....;)

Nope, not kidding. I'm not afraid of a little methane:noway:.....I just haven't shared mine yet:D. A seatbelt cutter/knife would be another idea in the car with him.....
FRYNTYR Aug 5th, 09, 3:34 AM I'm not afraid of a little methane:noway:..........
