I have a 69 malibu with alot of wiring problems and i'm stumped on this one. the problem only involves the driver side tail light, the pass side works fine. when the lights are on, both filaments light up as brakes and when the brake pedal is pushed the whole light goes out. also there is no flashing with turn sig on, it just stays bright. i'm thinking the problem traces back to the turn sig connections (or maybe further) but don't know what to do:confused:? any help is much appreciated

Poor ground. As a test, jam a piece of wire between the bulb housing and the socket (don't put it in to far) connect the other end of the wire to a good bare metal ground, do the lights work correctly then?

hello'
i recently bought the best test light you can
buy for testing wiring
called the power probe
it hooks directly to your battery and has a 20 foot
cord so you can work any where on the
car, testing power and ground circuts
with the touch of a switch
yours does sound like a ground problem
could be in the socket or wiring
best of luck

I ran a wire from the socket and spliced it into the side marker light ground wire and everything works perfectly! thanks for the help:thumbsup:
