I have a 70 chevelle, and need the console door lock. All the pics that I look at show the Lock but not the sleeve that holds the lock to the door with the small screw. where can I get the sleeve and the screw?

Good luck finding one (the retainer sleeve that is). I had been looking for one for about 3 years and just got my hands on one a few weeks ago from a fellow TC member. I'd try posting an ad in the classifieds.

I bought one. From the looks of it I will have to do some modification to make it look like yours, but its a start and better than nothing. Thanks a Ton :beers: :hurray:

Well here is my attempt at fixing the Console Lock. I think it turned out great. For all you guys who are wondering how and what to do. I opened up the holes a bit to fit the lock assembly and the center to clear the lever (see pics and compare) then I ground off about a little less than a 1/4 of an inch at the bottom to allow the retainer to hold the lock inplace. I would say grind alittle and then check you can take more off but its hard to add to it. here are the pics.

First gen Camaro's use them on the glove box lock (dash). I found a couple at swaps meets attached to used glove box doors. Some info that might help you find one?
